Fetească Albă – The Fetească Albă grape variety is excellent for producing dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, and sparkling white wines.

It is a grape variety cultivated before the appearance of phylloxera in our country.

Parentage: It emerged as a clonal variation of the Fetească Neagră variety in the historical Moldavia region.

It is cultivated in most regions of Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine, and Germany.

Area planted with Fetească Albă in Romania: over 10,000.0 ha.

Area planted with the variety in the Republic of Moldova (registered in the RVV as of 30 December 2023): Fetească Albă ranks first among indigenous varieties in terms of planted area, covering 751.9 ha, including 86.78 ha registered for the production of wine products with PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status.

The Fetească Albă grape variety is excellent for producing dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, and sparkling white wines.

Wines made from Fetească Albă grapes are fine and delicate, with aromas reminiscent of vineyard blossoms, acacia flowers, wildflowers, citrus fruits, and green apple, resulting in wines that are light and fresh.
