Chenet brand began at the end of World War II, when René Helfrich, the father of the current company owner, Joseph Helfrich, responding to market demands, tried wine distillation. This passion led to the production of one of France's best brandies made from white wines. René Helfrich became the first exporter of French brandy to the global market.
